PRP Microneedling

Micro-needling combined with PRP (platelet rich plasma) is a minimally invasive procedure that stimulates collagen, refines pore size, brightens skin, and helps shrink fine lines and scarring. We use a topical numbing cream prior to treatment to ensure comfortability.

After a series of treatments, you will see a transformation in your skin which will leave you with plump & luminous skin.

FAQ:

Q: How many sessions of PRP would I need to remove past scarring/texture? +

A: Everyone is completely different! We recommend a Series of 3 for all clients to maximize the benefits, however some clients have seen results after only one session.

Q: How long do the benefits last? +

A: You will start to notice results in 2-4 weeks depending on the turnover of your skin. After the 4 week mark, you will continue to see improvement as the microneedling has boosted your collagen production allowing better results to continue.

Q: Does PRP require my blood to be drawn? +

A: Yes! Once we draw the blood, we then spin it in order to separate your plasma from your red blood cells. That is the "Liquid Gold" we use as the additive during the treatment.

Q: What is the down time of this treatment? +

A: Upon leaving you will look slightly sunburned, which can last for a couple of days. After 24hrs make-up may be applied. In some rare cases, light flaking and small breakouts may occur. This typically resolves within a few days and is known as the "purging" process.

PRE-CARE INSTRUCTIONS +

You'll need to prepare for a few days or weeks before your treatments.

  • DO NOT use tanning beds or have extended sunlight exposure for 1 week prior to treatment.
  • DO NOT use retinol or Vitamin A for 3 to 5 days prior to treatment.
  • Avoid the use of NSAIDs, such as Ibuprofen 1 week prior to treatment
  • If you bruise easily, take Arnica for 1 week before your treatment.
POST-CARE INSTRUCTIONS +
  • Wash face thoroughly THE DAY AFTER TREATMENT. Gently wash the area with tepid water and the J. Murphy Full-Beni Cleanser or a gentle & natural cleanser in the morning. This process ensures the plasma is penetrating deep down Into the skin hours after treatment for optimal results.

What to expect post treatment:

Day 1 to 3: +
  • The skin may be dry and tight and some flaking may occur. This is completely normal. Frequent use of recommended serums will help alleviate any discomfort.
Day 3 to 4: +
  • Return to a regular gentle skincare routine as shown above. Retinol is optional 3 days after PRP treatment if you're acne-prone. Otherwise, avoid retinol for 7 days after PRP treatment to avoid drying the skin out.
  • Avoid alcohol-based toners and exfoliating for 10 to 14 days.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 14 days after PRP treatment.
